I didn’t pick up a proper instrument till I was 18, all though as a child I did play a bugle and a snare drum in a military marching band, my claim to fame was that I actually did play the Royal Albert Hall, I was 12.
The Bass guitar was my first love, I taught myself to play, and started my first band. No Comment we thought we were great but in reality we were shit.
We played a few gigs then the Lead singer left, so I decided I would keep the band together by being the Lead singer as well as the Bassist.
I was aware that ex Total Strangers keyboardist Garry Cox was working on a new project and wanted me to audition, releasing that this was a step up, I went along and he gave me this demo and told me to come back with a finished song, which I did, the song was called Lady Africa

After the split of White Russia in 1991, I sold all my music gear, apart from my Bass Guitar which I kept for another year or two, before I finally decided to part with it. I kept up my Guitar playing as a hobby.
In 1992, I started Kickboxing which I did for almost 4 years, then had 2 seasons of Motor racing, a bit of Golf “yes I know don’t take the piss” and several years racing superbike’s sometimes at speeds of over 180 mph.
Wheelie’s were a speciality of mine, my last one almost killed me. I spent two months in hospital I had to learn to walk again and now I’m left permanently disabled, but I still love bike’s, I just wish I could still ride one. (2005)
Once out of hospital I spent a while feeling sorry for myself, but that’s not me, I decided I would see Garry and find out about doing a bit of singing again.
As soon as I could drive again I went straight to see him, while there he introduced me to Cubase (the industry standard music creation & production software) which was a bit of a revelation for me.
Six months later I was at full time college studying Music Technology and writing and recording songs with Cubase, Pro Tools and types of other computer software.
Two years on, I had completed a National diploma in Music Tech and because my grades were good enough, I was offered a place on a foundation degree course for Music Production which I have now accepted.
